Operation Market Garden
From Joni Nuutinen: by a wargamer for the wargamers since 2011Operation Market Garden was a risky Allied attempt to shorten the end of the Second World War by using three groups of airborne forces to capture multiple bridges to pave a way for a 100-kilometer armored attack to seize the German industrial heartland east of Arnhem.
American and British Paratroopers without direct supply line have to depend on the unreliable airdropped supplies until the Allied spearhead reaches them.FEATURES:+ Historical accuracy: Campaign mirrors the historical setup.+ Long-lasting: Thanks to in-built variation and the games smart AI technology, each game provides a unique war gaming experience.+ Competitive: Measure your strategy game skills against others fighting for the Hall of Fame top spots.+ Supports casual play: Easy to pick up, leave off, continue later.+ Challenging: Crush your enemy quickly and earn the bragging rights on the forum.+ Good AI: Instead of just attacking on direct line towards the target, the AI opponent balances between strategic goals and smaller tasks like encircling nearby units.+ Settings: Various options are available to alter the look of the gaming experience: Change difficulty level, hexagon size, Animation speed, choose icon set for units (NATO or REAL) and cities (Round, Shield, Square, block of houses), decide what is drawn on the map, and much more.+ Tablet friendly strategy game: Automatically scales the map for any physical screen size/resolution from small smartphones to HD tablets, while settings allow you to fine tune hexagon and font sizes. In order to be a victorious general in this strategy game, you must learn to coordinate your attacks in two ways.

What Our Users Say
Don't just take our word for it. Here's what our users have to say about this Android app.
"Took me multiple times to find a repeatable winning strategy, I think hear optimal. Flee South brave British paratroopers! A great game somewhat marred by Joni allowing you unlimited turns, with no weather or other operational constraints closing in, and the huge rivers remain crossable"
"I had to play this about 8 or 9 times to get my head around it. Quite an investment of time. It's a better game than I first thought but still unbalanced. The Germans have too many units, the allied airborne troops are hamstrung by lack of supplies and the 82nd is too weak. The Poles are pointless. It can be a hellish slog and you can easily get mobbed by the endless German units and slowed by endless dugouts. Market Garden was a difficult op. This game makes you feel the frustration."
"Great game, but HARD. Probably because it's very realistic. I.e., the best you'll likely do is take the Eindhoven and Nijmegen bridges, and only get close to Arnhem, well after the paratroopers have wiped out. In other words, as well as the actual commanders did."
"Great, fun game. But very difficult to win. While all the games of the Conflict series are challenging, all model the battles and campaigns they depict with remarkable fidelity. Hence, not surprisingly the most difficult titles are those where the player plays the side that lost historically. To win in Operation-Market Garden, and 'change history,' you'll need lots of skill and luck. It's no mean feat to do as well as Montgomery did, and fall short just short of Arnhem. Highly recommended"
"Good"
"Great game. Hard working developer. You'll push with your relief forces to connect to the paratroops at 3 different drop zones behind the line. All the while, managing supply drops, B17 strikes, and the allocation of resources. One big difference is that armor must use bridges to cross the rivers keeping this scenario historically accurate. +A"
"Too many German units. They appear at full strength at the flanks everywhere. Operation market garden was not as hopeless as this game is."
"Joni's strategy games are little gems for those of us with fond memories of Avalon Hill and Tiller games. These are well researched, well-tuned, and very fun to play. I'm hooked."
"I believe I reviewed this game before, but it calls for a re-review. The game was rebalanced several months ago. The Germans are now tougher around the 2 furthest landing zones, and the game plays more like the real battle. Around Arnhem, your airborne troops will do well just to survive. (Tip: you actually have to march them away from the objectives to relieve the pressure.) Around Nijmegen, you should survive, but only if you focus on moving south to link up with the ground troops asap. A good challenge with Joni's usual well-thought-out mechanics."
"I used to like all the games from Joni, but I just cannot get my head around what he has done here. The game balance is just plain wrong as far as I am concerned. I may well be in a minority, but I just do not like the direction Joni is taking and for the first time will have to delete one of his games. I am very disappointed. I doubt I will buy another of his games, unless he changes direction. Sorry. On the positive side, I have loads of respect for Joni, had a couple of great conversations with him, I just cannot agree with him here."
